How do you Spell Blessed?

Yesterday, when I got home from running kids around, Jennifer met me at the door. She casually says, "We might need a ride back up to Provo tonight." I asked her why and she says, "oh, we might have wrecked Adam's truck on the way home." I'm thinking, what did you do, drive with the oil light on and burn up the engine?? Oh no, she pulls out her cell phone and shows me these pictures:

Naturally, I have "old lady eyes" and can't tell what I'm looking at on a 2" telephone screen. So then she tells me what happened. They were getting off of the freeway onto highway 6 to come home. The light was yellow, so they went through the intersection. As they did, a young girl came into the left turn lane and turned into the rear end of the truck. Her car was little and the truck was big, so she basically went under the truck, lifting it up and flipping it over. Good thing for seat belts!! Of course, Jenn learned that lesson the hard way! She said as the truck was rolling, she could see the roof of the car start to crunch, and so she just ducked down.
Everyone was able to walk away with only bumps and sore muscles. Friends have said that they drove by, saw the truck, and couldn't believe that they weren't hurt. We truly believe in miracles! Jayme came off the freeway a few minutes after the accident, and was a little freaked out when she realized what had happened. Especially with her history!
I couldn't let this go by without expressing my gratitude to Heavenly Father for protecting my children! We are truly blessed, and I am so grateful. I had a "friend" make comment that I shouldn't give credit to the Lord, because it makes me sound like we think we are better or more blessed than others who don't have such fortunate outcomes. I don't believe that is the case at all. I believe we are all equally loved, I believe He looks out for all of His children. I don't understand why some people are saved and others aren't, I don't understand why some people are blessed with health and others are stricken with disease, but I trust that He has a plan, and He understands. Sometimes bad things happen to good people, but I also believe we can find blessings and the hand of the Lord in even the worst situations. Sometimes it's more dramatic, and sometimes we have to look for it, but I believe that it's always there. I choose to be thankful, and in order to be thankful, I must give thanks to someone, right? The person I choose is my Heavenly Father.

Easter

Ok, here are my goofy kids. It's always an adventure to try and get a good picture where everyone is looking in the same direction and smiling at the same time! Easter was a beautiful day! We've had such a wet and cold spring, it was wonderful to have warm sunshine!
My tulips even bloomed for the holiday! Aren't they pretty? I love the spring when all of the flowers bloom, and everything gets green.

Coloring eggs. No one wanted to dye eggs except for Jordyn and Matthew, but as soon as I got everything ready, even the big kids didn't want to miss out on the fun. Here are Jenn and Adam, trying to ignore me ;) We usually try to do the "Easter Bunny" stuff on Saturday, and leave Sunday for the more spiritual aspects of the day. Well, this year the weather didn't cooperate, it rained all day on Saturday. We did color eggs, and get most of the food prep done though. Sunday after church we finally were able to hunt for eggs and get our baskets.

Jordyn had a blast collecting eggs!

Jenn didn't have much luck. Maybe it was because she left her basket in the house?

Matthew went for the hard to reach eggs. I'm not sure how they got up there. Must have been a tall bunny this year.

Jayme, Ammon and Jordyn. Hmm, Ammon's basket looks pretty full there, were you stealing eggs from the neighbors too?

Let's go fly a kite! The kids have been begging me for kites, so I got them. Here's Michael trying his out. Even here with the Spanish Fork wind, we didn't have much luck with the kites.

Jordyn just being cute! She's such a doll!
